Last week’s opener was a fine debut for new host Patrick Kielty, and the 52-year-old already looks like a very comfortable fit for a show that continues to defy the ages and TV format conformities.
Expect the usual eclectic mix of celebrities from home and occasionally abroad, political types, everyday people doing extraordinary things, some music, a few laughs – and something for everyone in the audience, both in studio and at home.

Blazing out of Alabama in the late 1940s, he was hailed a superstar by the age of 25, only to meet his untimely death just four years later.
Family and friends offer an insight into the man who became one of the most legendary figures in US music.
Preceded at 9pm by Country at the BBC and followed at 11.50pm by I Saw the Light, an unfortunately disappointing biopic of Hank Williams, starring Tom Hiddleston.
