Team USA is playing Venezuela in the quarterfinals of the 2023 World Baseball Classic on Saturday night. The tournament has shifted to a single-elimination format with pool play wrapped up, meaning the winner will advance to the semifinals to play Cuba while the loser is ousted from the tournament. Team USA are starting Chicago White Sox right-hander Lance Lynn, the most successful of the American starters during pool play. He’ll be tasked with handling a Venezuelan lineup that features Ronald Acuña Jr., Jose Altuve, and Salvador Perez, among other notables.
