THE temperature may be turning chilly but a trip to the beach can be brilliant whatever the weather.
And one Scottish stretch of sand has just made a list of the top coastal spots in the UK.
A recent study unveiled by Travel Expert at journeyera.com ranks the top 25 UK beaches based on Instagram hashtag counts.
The stunning Luskentyre beach is the only location north of the border to make the cut, attracting more than 10,500 hastags.
It’s not hard to see why it made the list as the breathtaking natural wonder, on the Isle of Harris, boasts miles of white shell sand and stunning green-blue water.
Often mistaken for the Carribbean, it’s previously beaten beaches on across Europe to be named among the best in the world.
Scenery includes wonderful sand dunes as well as the island of Taransay, which was famous for being the setting of the BBC’s Castaway.
Meanwhile, nearby activities include hillwalking and cycling as well as the Seallam! Visitor Centre, where you can learn about life on the islands.
Top of the list is Cornwall’s Kynance Cove, with an eye-catching 61,772 hashtags.
It boasts a stunning 61,772 hashtag counts being set apart by its Instagram-worthy turquoise waters and dramatic cliffs, making it not just a place to sunbathe but also a canvas for photographers and nature lovers.
