Attracting players from all over the world, the 2023 Nike World Basketball Festival featured eighty of the top high school basketball players, representing 23 different states and three other countries, and representing a rare balance between girls and boys. These 80 young athletes competed furiously throughout the course of two action-packed days, with 40 girls and 40 boys participating.
The festival provided these ambitious athletes with a stage to showcase their abilities. Furthermore, it even offered a glimpse into the sport’s future, with many fans avidly looking for up-and-coming stars.
One of the highlights of the 2023 Nike World Basketball Championship were the limited-edition jerseys created exclusively for the 2023 Nike World Basketball Festival in partnership with Cactus Jack. Donning one of these jerseys was Scottie Pippen’s son and Bronny James’ former teammate – Justin Pippen.
Justin Pippen played alongside Bronny James at Sierra Canyon. Bronny pledged his allegiance to the USC Trojans after his graduation. On the other hand, Justin Pippen, another budding prodigy, is still developing his skills at Sierra Canyon and is expected to graduate in 2024.
However, he is noticeably undersized for the guard position, being barely six feet tall. Another unexpected aspect of Pippen’s journey is that he didn’t make ESPN’s top 60 list for the 2024 high school class. But Bronny James’ brother, Bryce James extended his hand of support to Justin Pippen by sharing Pippen’s post on his story.
Meanwhile, Bryce James recently announced his intention to transfer schools.
