Pea Porridge in Bury St Edmunds is the one restaurant in Suffolk to hold a Michelin star, an accolade it has enjoyed for the last four years.
However, other Suffolk eateries have featured heavily in the national press since the start of the year, cementing our county as one of the nation’s best for food and drink.

From The Times to a column by Jay Rayner in The Observer to Squaremeal’s top 100 restaurants for 2024, The Suffolk is one of the county[‘s most popular – and most famous – places to eat.
The Greyhound Inn

The Greyhound Inn was named among the UK’s top 100 gastropubs in the list compiled by Estrella Damm and released in January 2024.
The inn is climbing the list, moving up from position 87th in 2023 to 66th position in 2024.

Hot on the heels of The Greyhound Inn, The Brewers also featured in 70th position in the 2024 Estrella Damm top 100 gastropubs.
The pub also has one of the prettiest pub gardens in the UK, according to the Good Food Guide.

The Unruly Pig is the UK’s top gastropub, according to Estrella Damm’s list of the top 50.
The pub regained the top spot after a year in second place – an accolade that business owner Brendan Padfield said was “unexpected but fantastic”.
