2 Vucetich (Bet Now: $18.00) has been pretty good since joining Robert Quinn and confident he can make it 2/2 this time in. Market wanted him at odds when resuming at Kembla Grange and the bets were landed. He gave them a start and a beating, rounding them up from near last for an impressive win. His overall form does read very well and off that sharp return, I think he’ll take beating here.
Danger
11 Wealthofknowledge (Bet Now: $11.00) has the Nathan Doyle polish and this stable are very good when it comes to Midway races. He comes to town off the back of a Provincial Midway win at Newcastle over 1400m, sitting back in the run before coming with a well timed run to finish best. Unknown at 1500m but off the last start, the rise in trip is no issue and is a key chance.
Long Shot
13 Artie’s Aura (Bet Now: $5.00) should be improved by the first up run, which came in a Provincial Midway Championship Qualifier where she was near the speed throughout and loomed to win but condition just gave way late in the piece behind Essonne, beaten just under two lengths. Fitter, up in trip, off that return, I think she commands respect.

Back Me
1 Sir Lucan (Bet Now: $3.30) did the right thing by us first up and won’t be dropping off here. It was a great training effort to win first up given that was his first run since the 2021 Melbourne Cup. He led throughout to win the Randwick Stakes and he was dominant in the run to the line. You can only assume there is upside and with that being the case, he’ll take a power of beating.
Danger
4 Glory Daze (Bet Now: $3.40) is a good staying prospect for the Maher/Eustace camp. He has won his past two, the latest being at Randwick where, like he was at Sandown, a bit one paced when initially asked but as the race went on, he got stronger and was impressive in winning. He’s got room for improvement, in form and this stable in staying races should always be respected.
Long Shot
10 Pesto (Bet Now: $46.00) is in with a shout here. This guy ran in the Glory Daze race from a few weeks back at Randwick, his first run in several weeks, and I thought he was very good late from near last on the turn when beaten just over four lengths in a solid effort. He can settle much closer in the run if need and should that eventuate, he appeals as a knockout hope.

Back Me
7 Pink Ivory (Bet Now: $4.60), if she runs up to the first up effort, will take beating here. She resumed in the Aspiration and after a tardy start, she got a suck run and drove hard late, just missing out on the win when beaten a lip by Thalassophile. Fitter, up to 1900m, with natural improvement, she has to go close to beating these given how well she ran fresh.
Danger
6 Gin Martini (Bet Now: $9.50) might want one more but the return was more than encouraging. She resumed in the Aspiration and while she was never a threat, I really liked the way she found the line in defeat, finishing just over two lengths away from Thalassophile. I reckon she might want one more and a rise in trip, but she has a bit of quality and has good upside compared to most.
Long Shot
8 Douceur (Bet Now: $21.00) is sneaky flying I feel. John Thompson trained mare that needed the opening two runs for the prep given they were over sprint trips. She stepped up to the mile last time in the Aspiration and I thought was very good out wide when close up behind Thalassophile. She gets to a more suitable trip now and fourth up from a spell, she should just about be at peak fitness.

Back Me
5 Pericles (Bet Now: $2.30) has the engine under the hood to prove hard to beat here. He’s had two runs back from a spell, both at Sandown. Resumed with a close up fourth in the Autumn Stakes before stepping up to 1800m in the Autumn Classic where loved the step up in distance and albeit he didn’t beat much, he gapped them and was impressive. Promised to be a good horse since day one and this prep has been all about the Guineas/Derby. Leading contender.
Danger
1 Manzoice (Bet Now: $15.00) looks to be ticking along nicely towards the Derby. He resumed in the Randwick Guineas where he got a fair way out of his ground and was never really a factor but did warm to the task at the end and ran through the line well enough behind Communist. This should top him off for the Derby but he has the runs on the board and will be strong late.
Long Shot
4 Matcha Latte (Bet Now: $8.00), to my eye, looks a much better horse when he has room to move. He didn’t get that in the Randwick Guineas and to the eye, it was just a run, but he had genuine excuses I thought being between runners and nearer the inside. If he gets room to move this time around, he’s certainly going well enough to take this out.

Back Me
I reckon 2 Sacred Satono (Bet Now: $23.00) is a great each way gamble. Quality three year old from New Zealand that ran against the big boys and girls in the Challenge Stakes and I thought he was very good in defeat behind Passive Aggressive. He drops miles in grade/depth here and maps to get a suck run in transit. With that in mind, plus a rise in trip, he only runs well IMO with strong form lines from here and back home in New Zealand.
Danger
4 Kote… (Bet Now: $17.00) is he back on track? He took on older horses in two runs to start the prep and was just fair without jumping up and down. He then came back to his own age two weeks ago in the Fireball and was excellent from near last on the turn when second to impressive winner Dashing Legend. Is that the way to ride him? Or can he revert back to sitting on speed and proving hard to run down, as he was back in the Spring.
Long Shot
3 Nettuno (Bet Now: $21.00) resumes for Tony Gollan and is dangerous. Tony Gollan tried to get him to be a Golden Rose horse in the Spring but he just failed to run out 1200m against the big boys and girls, but he was far from disgraced in hot races. Loved the way he went in a trial alongside She’sgottheboom and for mine, I think he is the more brilliant horse, so it was a good piece of work and is hard to beat.

Back Me
2 Mo’Unga (Bet Now: $3.10) is absolutely flying for Annabel Neasham and for mine, he will eat up 2000m here. He ran in the Chipping Norton where he was on speed throughout and tried his guts out. He was no match for Anamoe but battled on really well in defeat to run third. He’s racing like he wants more ground, he gets that here, and he has the Anamoe form, which is A1 form for 1600m+ races in Australia.
Danger
1 Gold Trip (Bet Now: $5.50) has come back enormous. The Melbourne Cup winner resumed in the Peter Young at Sandown and he was excellent from the back. He ran through the pain barrier and found the line with real purpose when second to Steinem. He has been set for the Sydney Carnival and off the return, 2000m should be fine and he does have class.
Long Shot
Contender or pretender time for 6 El Bodegon (Bet Now: $15.00). Can make a case that in the Spring, he goes close in the Cox Plate with a clean jump. That said, his two runs back from a spell have been on the plain side, albeit both times he was up against Anamoe. Clean jump, he’ll land on speed here and with his best, I think he is certainly good enough to be dangerous.
* Above offers may only be available to select customers.
Back Me
All things being equal, 1 Anamoe (Bet Now: $1.85) wins again. I am a bit surprised he is here and not the Ranvet but can understand why given they are thinking the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot and they don’t want to bust him with two 2000m runs under the belt. His Chipping Norton win was arrogant, he’s a champion and I think those champion qualities will come to the fore here.
Danger
6 Fangirl (Bet Now: $9.00) would be sick of seeing the sight of Anamoe. She has finished behind the champ in both runs back, the latest in the Chipping Norton when a strong second, finding the line with real purpose. She’s ticking along beautifully and is a Group l winner in waiting for this prep. Looked like it would come here but unfortunately she bumps into Anamoe.
Long Shot
7 Levante (Bet Now: $15.00) is a ripping Kiwi mare who is yet to run a bad race whenever she has come down under. She comes here off the back of a Group l win at WFA when slogging it out best on somewhat testing ground at Otaki. She excels on top of the ground so in that regard, she gets conditions to suit…not sure she has the class to win, but is a must for multiples.

Back Me
5 Cylinder… (Bet Now: $3.30) can the overs god be kind? $51 was the price I got for him before he trialled this prep and fast forward to now, he’s been dominant in two wins, has run time and IMO, is clearly the #1 seed. Race was there to be won in the Todman and he won impressively, winning with something in hand to the eye as well. With normal luck, he’s clearly the one they have to beat.
Danger
4 Don Corleone (Bet Now: $9.50) is a good colt for Team Snowden. He’s had three career outings, smashing them on debut before a forgive run two back. He then went to the Blue Diamond and you can make a case that with clear air, he wins the race instead of a second to Little Brose, getting held up at the wrong time. He’ll love firmer footing, truly run 1200m, he appeals big time.
Long Shot
11 Platinum Jubilee (Bet Now: $11.00) has the fresh legs leading into this and has versatility re racing pattern. She has been kept on ice since the Silver Slipper where she attempted to lead throughout and gave a good kick but couldn’t quite finish it off, run down late by Cylinder, who franked the form in the Todman. Went sharp in a tick over trial win and while she has been effective on speed, I reckon she is far better with a bunny to chase.
* Above offers may only be available to select customers.
Back Me
2 Uncommon James (Bet Now: $3.50) is a ripper for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp. Three weeks between runs since recording a well deserved Group l win, taking out the Oakleigh Plate at Sandown. He did the work near the speed and was there to be run down but he found under pressure and was strong to the line. 1100m looks his sweet spot and is very genuine, plus has versatility re racing pattern. He’ll be around the mark I’m sure.
Danger
4 Zoustyle (Bet Now: $12.00) will jump on the bunny and take running down at a likely decent price. He resumed in the Oakleigh Plate and I thought he did a remarkable job to stick on like he did given he led at a hot speed and was only run down late in the piece. Rosehill 1100m suits speedy types and despite several engaged here, he maps to lead and from there, he’ll give a bold sight.
Long Shot
11 Andermatt (Bet Now: $16.00) has found that winning feeling again…can he go on with it? Few weeks weeks between runs since a dominant win at this track/distance where he lobbed into a beaut spot behind the speed, angled clear at the right time and let down with purpose to win well. He’s an enigma but I actually think he is racing really well and down in the weights, he’s in with a shout.
* Above offers may only be available to select customers.
Back Me
7 Written Beauty (Bet Now: $11.00) is dangerous with a half positive ride. She’s had two runs back from a spell, each time seeing her sit near last in the run and never really threatening, but each time she has found the line with purpose and clocked pretty good late splits. She should just about be at peak fitness now and with a half positive ride here, I think she’ll take beating.
Danger
1 Palaisipan (Bet Now: $4.20) is the class of the field and looks prepped up to run a beauty fresh. She resumes for Chris Munce, having not raced since the Empire Rose when at the end of her prep and looking for the paddock behind Icebath. Loved the way she moved in a recent trial win and with Bowman booked fresh, there is clear intent, and the market agrees.
Long Shot
2 Sky Command (Bet Now: $12.00) has to be given another chance. Market said she was ready to go when resuming two weeks back in the Wenona Girl but I thought she was very plain. She didn’t find the front, so whether that meant she didn’t fire, not sure, but given the SP, she was disappointing behind Jal Lei. If she finds the front this time around, her best is good enough to win.
